Biology 412

Dr. Andrew Shedlock now is teaching Biology 412: Capstone in Molecular Biology, which meets and works in the lab weekly. Four students working at once in the lab is cramped, but is bringing life to the lab!

The class has taken 2 field trips: one to Dixie Plantation to collect insects and one deep sea fishing to collect fish! These trips allowed the students to collect their own Lowcountry organisms for genome exploration. The students will be compiling genomic libraries from both their invertebrate and vertebrate specimens.

This new and exciting class will be offered in the future for anyone looking for a high-impact experience in field and lab work!
